Duffy Wins National U20 3000m Title
Ally Duffy finished out her track season with a gun to tape victory over 3000m. Each year the U20 3000m is held as part of the National Senior Track and Field Championships so as not to take away from the 1500m and 5000m events at the U20 Championships. Ally has enjoyed success in a variety of distances this track season from 800m through to the 1500m and at both 1500m as well as 2000m steeplechase distances, so she was enthusiastic to finally get to race a 3000m. She led the race out hard completing the first kilometre in 3:20. With blustery conditions and a big lead inevitably the pace dipped a bit but Ally not only won her first U20 gold medal at the weekend she also set a new PB of 10:08. A superb way to round off an outstanding track season.

Billy returned later in the championships to compete in the 200m, clocking 22.72, while Aaron Keane ran an excellent 47.57 in the 400m.
