Tullamore Harriers report – 17th August 2026
National Masters Championships
Tullamore Harriers athletes enjoyed a successful weekend at the 123.ie National Masters Track & Field Championships at Morton Stadium, Santry, with four athletes bringing home eight national medals.
Olive Mannion led the medal haul with three medals, winning Gold in the 1500m (7:23.76) and taking Silver in the Shot Put (5.66m) and Weight for Distance (5.07m).
Stephen Byrne claimed Gold in the M50 100m, with a very impressive run, clocking 12.70 into a strong -4.5m/s headwind.
In the M35 category, Joseph Mulligan won Gold in the 800g Javelin (33.85m), Silver in the 56lb Weight for Distance (5.02m) and Bronze in the 7.26kg Shot Put (9.26m).
Marek Pokorny completed the medal tally with Silver in the O50 Heavy Hammer (28lb), throwing 11.20m recording a new personal best.
Kevin 2nd in the Battle of Clontarf 10 Mile.
The club was represented by 6 athletes at the annual Battle of Clontarf 10 Mile race on Monday the 3rd of August.
The race, which incorporated the Athletics Leinster 10 Mile Championship, took place in St. Anne’s Park Raheny taking in 2 laps of the park. Traditionally staged on Easter Monday, this year's race was moved to the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Kevin Minnock had a fantastic run to finish 2nd overall in 53.26 a great reward for his commitment to training.
The race was won by Raheny Shamrock AC's Michael Brady in 51:20, with Colm Turner of Brothers Pearse AC taking third place.
Killian Nolan was the second Tullamore Harriers athlete home, followed by Jonathan Dunne, who won the M45 age category. Their performances, together with Kevin Minnock's, also secured the Leinster Senior Men's Team silver medals.
Mary Galvin earned herself a super Leinster medal with her 2nd age group placing. Naomi Galvin and Rita Daly Ravenhill also proudly represented the blue and white of Tullamore Harriers, producing strong performances on the day.

Congratulations to Aaron Keane who had a superb run at the Stratford Speed GP in London on August 9th.
Aaron stormed to 2nd place in the 200m in an impressive 21.02 seconds, smashing his previous personal best of 21.45 by 0.43 seconds.
BnM Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon
With less than 3 weeks to go, excitement is building for the BnM Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon on Saturday, August 29th. A record 1,400 entries sold out within weeks of registration opening, underlining the event's growing popularity. Held annually on the last Saturday of August, the half marathon has become a key fixture on the athletics calendar, providing the ideal opportunity for runners preparing for the Dublin City Marathon and other autumn races.
The event will see runners tackle a challenging but fair course through the scenic countryside around Tullamore. Starting at 10.00am on the Charleville Road at the junction with Dillon Street, the route takes runners through Mucklagh, along the Ross Road to Ballinacanty Cross, through Killurin, before finishing with a lap of the Tullamore Harriers track.
