Elise competed well in the 28-degree heat and finished a creditable fiftieth in this her only second mountain race. Ireland finished eighth in the team competition.
Tailteann Games victory for Duffy
On Saturday last (June 20th), three of Tullamore Harriers juvenile squad travelled to Carlow to compete in the Tailteann Games on the Leinster squad. Conditions were perfect with the sun shining and little or no wind.

Rachel Keaney also had a great race in the steeplechase. She led out the race in the early stages covering the first 400m in 76 seconds and fought all the way to the finish line to finish a creditable fifth place.
The early pace in the 1500m was brutal with Westport's Freya Renton pushing hard from the starters gun. Adelyn Walsh competed bravely and was among the chasing pack.
