Big Turnout for Jack Cox 5K Road Race
The annual Jack Cox 5K road race was run in Kilcormac last Friday with a big field of seventy four runners taking part which was a big increase on last year. Colm Burke of St Abban’s who has won this race for the last eight years was in imperious form and coasted to another victory in a time of 15.41 and had over a minute to spare over Harry Lupton of North Laois with Noel Marum also from the North Laois club third. Pauline Curley was the winner of the Senior Ladies title in a time of 17.08 with Maire Triona O’Connor second and Liz Cuskelly third . Mary Daly took second place in the Master Ladies with Martina Conlon in third place. Pat Conlon took second place in the Mens over 50 section.
Niccole Cuskelly was the winner of the Junior Ladies with Sean Rigney the winner in the Junior mens race.

Pauline Curley Wins Bob Heffernan 5K
The Bob Heffernan 5K road race took place in Enfield on Tuesday of this week and there were some good performances by our athletes. Pauline Curley was the winner of the Ladies race in a time of 17.11. John Harkin had his first race in a while and ran a great race to finish in 10th place overall and he was the winner in the over 40 category. John’s time was a fast 16.07. The Tullamore ladies team of Pauline Curley, Liz Cuskelly and Mary Daly placed second in the team competition behind Sportsworld AC.

Mullingar Road League
The Mullingar road league concluded on Wednesday last with the overall winners based on an athletes best three times over the four weeks. Declan Fahey finished third overall in the senior mens category. John Donegan took second place in the mens over 45 section while Pat Conlon was also second in the over 50 category.
