Peter Devery Memorial Win for Eddie Garry.
The first leg of the annual P.Devery cross country challenge against Ballyfin AC took place last Sunday in the grounds of Emo House. On a cold but mostly dry morning the race was run over a distance of 4,500 metres and consisted of three laps which included one long uphill stretch. In a very competitive race, Tullamore’s Eddie Garry had a good win in a time of 15.00. Liz Cuskelly ran a very strong race to be first lady home in 13.24.
Ballyfin hold a narrow lead in the team competition and the Harriers will be expecting a big turnout of it’s members for the return leg to be held in Charleville Estate on a yet to be fixed date.

Business Houses.
John Todd competed in the Garda 4 mile cross country race in the Phoenix Park last Sunday. John finished in second place in the over 55 category in a time of 25.35.
3K Run/Jog/Walk event for beginner and improver runners.
Starting March 3rd and for every following Wednesday in March, there will be a timed 3000m run on the tarmac track in the Harriers Grounds at 6.45pm.This is strictly aimed at non competitive runners who regularly run/jog and would like to challenge themselves without any pressure whatsoever of official racing. Tullamore Harriers members will supervise the event and encourage all those taking part to enjoy and improve their running times and fitness. April 18th : National 10K Road Race and Bupa Run, Phoenix Park.
May 3rd : Leinster Novice and Masters Road Race, Gowran, Kilkenny.
Training: Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am Except on a race day. New members always welcome.
With the dark evenings now here it is important to be seen on the roads so reflective gear must be worn while training on the roads
