RAY DELANEY’S TEAM WINS CLUB TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The second round of the Club Track and Field League was held on Tuesday 20th May with a very close finish as the outcome was in the balance going into the last event which was the 6 x 200 relay. Earlier there were clear win for Aine Brennan, Sean Sweeney, Adrian Brennan, Catch Grennan, Claire Collins and Tom Rafferty before Ray Delaney led his team to victory in the relay. The final positions were 1st Team A (Ray Delaney) 115 points, 2nd Team C (Jim Dolan) 112 points, 3rd Team B (Adrian Martin) 104 points. Members of the winning team were Ray Delaney Captain, Aine Brennan, Barry Lambe, Damien Lawlor, John Donegan, Johnny Feery, Mick Fleming, Pauline Curley, Richie Faulkner, Ronan Duffy, Sharon Leonard.

RACE ROUND UP
The Boston Scientific 4 mile road race attracted the usual large number of runners and walkers last Sunday. The ladies took a clean sweep of the senior prizes with Pauline Curley winning from Liz Cuskelly and Pauline Lambe. Category winners were Deirdre Lambe, John Donegan, Mary Walsh, Benny Beatty and Michael Lambe.

The Mullingar 5k Road League Round 2 results were Declan Fahey 1st 16.02, John Donegan 9th 17.06, Pauline Curley 14th 17.25, Andy O’Grady 76th 21.04, Gerry Kavanagh 91st 21.33, Brendan Kennedy 92nd 21.40 and Paddy Dolan 101st 22.02. Declan Fahey was in England on Sunday 18th May to take part in The Shell Chester Half Marathon and finished in second place in a time of 1.12.05. The race had 1841 finishers and was won by Paul Sankey (Liverpool Running Club) in 1.11.02 with Philip Matthews (Chepstow Harriers) third in 1.12.31. John Todd was back in action last Saturday after a recurring arch injury in his left foot, at the BHAA Intel 10k John ran 37.50 to win the over 55 section and was 21st overall and led the foodgroup team to 1st place in Grade C. The Brennan girls both set new club jump records in recent competition with Emer recording 5.34 metres in the Long Jump and Aine recording 10.24 metres in the Triple Jump.

Training : Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am (except on a race day) all are welcome.

Circuit training led by Adrian Brennan every Wednesday at 7pm.
