Peter Devery Memorial Win for Adrian Curley
The annual Peter Devery memorial challenge between Tullamore Harriers and Ballyfin Athletic club took place last Sunday in the grounds of Emo House. This is run over two legs with the second leg fixed for Sunday March 8th in Charleville Estate. The Harriers have two teams competing, consisting of an under 40 and an over 40 team.
The race was run over a dry Cross Country course in ideal conditions.A group of three Tullamore athletes consisting of Adrian Curley, Jody O’Reilly and Mick Murphy cut out the early pace. Adrian Curley pulled steadily away to come home a clear winner, twenty seconds ahead of O’Reilly. Ballyfin man Robaird Miller finished strong to overtake Mick Murphy to claim third place with Murphy a close fourth. Martin Carroll finished fifth after edging out Declan Madden in a hard fought battle in the last mile.
In the team competition Ballyfin with 204 points have a narrow lead over Tullamore Harriers under 40 team on 208 points while the Harriers over 40 team have it all to do in the second leg as they are on 256 points.

News Roundup.
Enniscorthy 10k. Pauline Lambe had a good win in the Enniscorthy 10k road race where she was first woman in a good time of 37.46.
Jim Langan also ran and was first over 65 in a time of 50.10.
Business Houses. John Todd competed in the Garda/St Raphaels Credit Union 4 mile Cross Country race in ideal conditions in the Phoenix Park last Saturday. John finished 57th overall and 2nd over 55 in a time of 24.53
Sympathies. Tullamore Harriers wish to extend deepest sympathy to the family of Teresa Glynn, Tullamore on her recent death. Teresa was grandmother to Thomas Chamney who competed in the 800 metres in the 2008 Olympics.

March 1st. AAI. National Senior and Junior Cross Country Championships in Santry, Dublin.
March 8th Peter Devery Memorial Cross Country race, second leg in Charleville Estate at 10am.
Training: Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am (except on a Race day). New members always welcome. On these dark evenings, it is important that all members wear reflective clothing when running on the roads.
Membership is now due and costs 35 Euro for the year
