Rafferty, Walsh and Dolan Excel in Leinster Track and Field.
The Leinster Senior and Masters Track and Field Championships took place in Tullamore Harriers stadium last Sunday and attracted a big number of athletes from around the province. On a fine sunny day there were some excellent performances from Tullamore athletes. Mary Walsh had a great treble in winning the 200, 400 and 800 metres all in very impressive times.

Tom Rafferty also had a good day in the M 2 category winning two gold, two silver and a bronze medal all in the throwing events. Despite picking up an injury in the High Jump, Paddy Dolan also went on to win medals in several events. Well done to all.

Curley second in Mini Marathon
The annual Women’s Mini Marathon took place last Monday on the streets of Dublin on a scorching hot day.Pauline Curley and Liz Cuskelly were in the leading group in the early stages but then eventual winner Rosemary Ryan got away from the field and continued to extend her lead to come home a clear winner in a time of 34.36. Pauline Curley ran on strong to claim a great second place in a time of 35.41 which was a fine run in the conditions.

Pauline Lambe had a super run to finish 8th in 37.20 while Liz Cuskelly finished in 16th place and second over 35 in a time of 38.54. Maire Triona Keane also had a good run considering she did a triathlon the previous Saturday and finished in 26th place in 39.56.

Cork City Marathon
On a very warm June Bank holiday Monday Larry Rigney competed in the Cork Marathon. On a day not suitable for fast running Larry was happy to finish in a time of 4.24.42.

Rathgormack 5 Mile road Race.
Pauline Lambe had a great victory in the Rathgormack 5 mile road race on in Waterford Friday night. Pauline won by a margin of 150 metres from Madeline Loughnanne of Thurles Crokes in a time of 29.39.
Pauline had a busy weekend as on Sunday she was back on the roads for the Kilmacow 4 mile road race and here she finished second to Lucy Darcy in a time of 23.35. Barry Lambe also competed and recorded a time of 24.13 for the 4 miles.

Sympathy. Tullamore Harriers extend their sympathies to Jim Dolan on the death of his Father, Patrick (Paddy) Dolan.

June 14th : National League Round 1 in Cork.
