MEDAL WINNERS IN SUNNY GOWRAN The Leinster Novice and Masters Road Championships were held in Gowran on Bank Holiday Monday with a large number of athletes taking part. A lovely sunny day added to the race atmosphere as the athletes were cheered on as they completed laps of the Co Kilkenny village. First into action were the Novice and Master Ladies with 2 laps of the course for the 3k distance. In the Masters Pauline Curley was having her first race since the Rotterdam marathon and was a clear winner in 10.21, with Liz Cuskelly running a fine race to take the M1 bronze medal. With Deirdre Lambe winning the M2 section and Martina Conlon second in the M3 section the Tullamore ladies took the Gold medals for club and county. Maire-Triona Keane took an individual Novice bronze medal and supported by Sharon Leonard, Una Mullen and Mary Daly took Gold for club and county. The Novice and Master Men were next in action over 6k and were led home by Declan Fahey taking the silver medal in M1 with Johnny Feery also taking a silver medal in M4.
